Highly ranked as one of the greatest pizzerias to grab a slice in the whole of the United States, Bleeker Street Pizza is famous in its own right and in my opinion serves some of the finest speciality pies you can taste.

The pizza parlour is run by owners Greg Greenwood and chef Tony Salihaj, who continue the tradition of Greenwood’s late brother Douglas, who opened the restaurant after retiring from the New York Police Department post 9/11. His dream was to run a neighbourhood pizza shop and through his ambition and hard work, in time he turned Bleeker Street Pizza into a roaring success.

Bleeker Street is famous for their signature “Nonna Maria” pies, which are named after the owner’s grandmother and created from a secret family recipe using fresh mozzarella, homemade marinara sauce, aged parmigiano-reggiano and fresh basil on a thin Tuscan-style crust. They only use the freshest ingredients and source their premium parmigiano-reggiano cheese direct from Italy, which gives an extraordinary flavour to every slice they create.

It’s an excellent spot for a quick bite, the slices are gigantic and toppings are fully loaded onto the exceptional light chewy dough with an airy crispy crust.

The family-owned business is a cornerstone of the community serving up crave-worthy pizza. Trust me, one slice will never be enough at Bleeker Street – it’s just too tasty.
