The Carroll-Crawford House was built after the Civil War for cotton factor Joseph Carroll. This Italianate-style stuccoed brick house features a smooth facade with segmental-arched windows and doors, topped by a cornice with oversized dentils.

The two-story cast-iron gallery adds a touch of elegance, while the detached service building and carriage house complete the property. Architect Samuel Jamison, who hailed from Ireland, designed this charming residence that still stands as a testament to the architectural trends of the time.
