The Earth Dome at the Seokguram Grotto is a Buddhist cave temple built during the Unified Silla Period in ancient Korea. Constructed between 751 and 774 CE, this unique structure is set into the slopes of Mt. Toham near the Silla capital of Geumseong. The design features an entrance tunnel leading to a rectangular antechamber, a vestibule with octagonal columns, and a large circular inner chamber symbolizing the sky. Inside, visitors can admire 41 figure sculptures, including a magnificent 3.45-meter-high statue of the Buddha seated on a pedestal facing east.
