Safety and driving tips for campervans
Since a van is bigger than a car, it's important to take some things into consideration

Madeira island, Portugal
Driving a van in Madeira requires a bit more attention and steel nerves; there are cliffs, narrow roads, plenty of curves and oncoming traffic. Here's how to stay safe and stress free.
never park under cliffs or steep slopes
always lock the van and turn of the leisure batteries when not in
watch out for steep ramps and high speed bumps; protect the van's underbody
don't fully trust google maps; if a road feels too tight, reverse or turn around safely.
to visit Funchal, park a bit outside and use a Bolt (they are cheap in Madeira)
slow driving is part of the island's charm; take it easy and enjoy the views.
