Close to the famous Rabaçal/25 Fontes hike, there is an enchanting lake hidden in nature, fed by a beautiful waterfall. This hidden gem is called Lagoa do Vento, which literally means "Lake of the Wind" - a name that perfectly matches the mysterious and rugged atmosphere of this place.

You can do this hike as a loop. The easiest way is to start at the Levada do Alecrim. After about 40 minutes, once you’ve passed the waterfall steps, you’ll reach a junction. Here, a sign will point you toward Lagoa do Vento, which is still 0.9 km away.

Note: The trail continuously goes downhill, and the steps can be uneven. At one point, you’ll have the choice to go left or right. First, take the right path to visit the waterfall, as you’ll return to this point on the way back. Then, take the left path, which leads to the Rabaçal Nature Spot Café. Here, you can reward yourself with a delicious piece of cake or a cup of coffee. From there, you can either take the transfer (€3 per person) back to the parking lot or walk the final 20 minutes uphill.
