Ponta do Sol is a picturesque town on the southwest coast of Madeira Island known for its sunny weather. It's a favourite spot for beachgoers and nature lovers who enjoy beautiful landscapes.

Tourism is important here, but so is agriculture. Ponta do Sol grows famous Madeiran products like bananas, sugar cane, flowers, and vegetables.

The municipality covers 43.3 square kilometers and has about 8,200 residents (of which I am one). It includes three areas: Ponta do Sol, Canhas, and Madalena do Mar.

Ponta do Sol is unique because it has Madeira's only plateau, Paul da Serra, 1500 meters high. It's rich in native plants and a great place to explore. Whether you're into mountains, villages, or beaches, Ponta do Sol has plenty to offer.
