The medina of Tunis is chaotic, beautiful, overwhelming, and a must on any Tunis itinerary. If you're not staying in La Marsa, chances are, you're staying here (or nearby). Here, you’ll find tiny alleyways packed with shops selling everything from handwoven rugs and ceramics to perfumes, silver, and spices.

It’s easy to get lost in here. Google Maps doesn't work very well, and honestly, that’s part of the fun! Some sections feel touristy, but wander a bit further and you’ll stumble into quiet corners where locals sip tea and craftsmen work in tiny ateliers. Bring cash, be ready to haggle, and wear comfy shoes. You could easily spend a whole afternoon just exploring without any real plan (which is exactly what we recommend).
