Tucked away in Tunisia’s far south, Ksar Ouled Soltane is one of the best-preserved examples of a traditional Berber granary. Built in the 15th century, it was used to store grain and protect it from raiders, with multi-story rows of storage rooms stacked around open courtyards.

The architecture of this site is striking. It's built from with mudbrick walls, wooden doors, and winding staircases that make the whole place feel like a giant sandcastle. It’s a bit of a trek to get here in the far south of the country, but the mix of history and stunning desert scenery makes it more than worth the journey.
