Bab el Bahr, also known as Porte de France, is the old city gate that separates modern Tunis from the medina. It’s a simple stone arch, but it marks the spot where everything changes. On one side: wide boulevards and French-era cafes. On the other: narrow alleyways, spice stalls, and centuries of history.

You’ll definitely pass through here if you're exploring central Tunis, and it’s worth stopping for a quick photo. From this point on, prepare to get a little lost in the medina beyond (in a good way)!
