This is, for me, the best viewpoint of the Antisana Volcano, since from this angle, the volcano almost looks like a crown, and from the normal side, Laguna de La Mica, it has a very flat and uncharacteristic shape. From here, you can start a famous hike called "Agua & Vida" (Water & Life) that finishes at Papallacta, where you can find the famous hot springs. You can only pass through the Park Refuge gate at 8 am (and it closes at 3 pm). So if you want to see the sunrise, I would suggest parking the car outside the entrance area where there is space for it and walking for about 1 hour to reach the viewpoint. Remember, the sunrise in Ecuador is at 6 am, so plan to be parked at 5 am.
