The Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, also known as the Red Mosque, is a historic and iconic mosque located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Built in 1909 by the local Indian Muslim community, this distinctive red and white candy-striped building with a clock tower is a popular tourist site in the city. It has a unique Indo-Saracenic style of architecture and can accommodate up to 10,000 worshippers after an expansion in 1975. Sailors approaching the port used to recognize it as a landmark before other structures were built.
