Cerro Tijeretas, or Frigate Bird Hill, is the perfect place for a free and independent activity on Isla San Cristobal in the Galapagos Islands. The hike takes one to an outlook point with breathtaking views of Darwin’s Cove and out to sea. With proper footwear, one could proceed further up and finish at Playa Baquerizo. There is great potential for wildlife spotting as frigate birds, blue-footed boobies, turtles, sea lions and iguanas have been seen here. Alternatively, take the right fork on your way back from Cerro Tijeretas and visit Punta Carola Beach.
