Somawathiya National Park is a wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka known for its diverse flora and fauna. Established in 1986, it is home to elephants, leopards, and a variety of bird species. The park also houses the historic Somawathiya Chaitya, a stupa said to contain a relic of the Buddha's tooth. With lush flood plains and water-filled basins, this national park offers a rich habitat for both resident and migratory wildlife.
