Don't let the name fool you; Playa Sucia, or "La Playuela" as we locals call it, is one of the most stunning spots on the island. To get there, you'll leave your car and take a hot, unshaded walk for about 20-30 minutes through the nature reserve, but your reward is a breathtaking crescent of sand framed by dramatic, red limestone cliffs. Once you've taken a dip, be sure to hike up to the historic Cabo Rojo lighthouse for unforgettable views over the turquoise water. It's a completely natural setting, so pack everything you need for the day.
