Peru grows some of the best cacao in the world, and at ChocoMuseo you don’t just taste it. You get to make your own chocolate! Their two-hour chocolate-making class mixes history, culture, and hands-on fun. You’ll learn how cacao is harvested and roasted, taste different types of Peruvian chocolate, and then craft your own bars with toppings like salt from Maras, nuts, chili powder, coca, ginger, and crispies.

For us, this was one of the most unexpectedly fun activities in Lima. We took the class at the Inka Markets, and between tasting, mixing, and experimenting, it felt both delicious and educational. And the best part? Walking away with your very own customized chocolate bars to snack on later.

Pro Tip: Book in advance since classes often sell out. It’s a great rainy-day or evening activity in Lima, especially if you’ve already toured the city by day.
