The Sapantiana Aqueduct is one of Cusco’s hidden gems. Built in the colonial period, this multi-arched stone structure once carried water into the city. Today, it sits tucked in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by stairways and narrow streets that feel far removed from the tourist crowds.

We thought it was really cool to see, both as a piece of history and as a photogenic corner of Cusco. Walking up to the aqueduct in the morning, we found it peaceful, with just a few locals passing by. It’s not a major tourist site, but that’s exactly what makes it special.

Pro Tip: Pair it with Calle Siete Borreguitos for a morning walk. Go early to enjoy the quiet atmosphere before tour groups and locals start using the nearby stairways.
