The Golden Shadows Trek is a guided hike through the Paracas National Reserve that shows off the desert at its most beautiful - during sunset! The trail winds along desert cliffs overlooking the Pacific, where the shifting light makes the sand and rocks glow golden, hence the name.

We did this trek with PeruHop and loved how it gave us a different perspective on Paracas. Instead of just driving between viewpoints, we got to walk across the desert, watch the sun dip into the ocean, and really take in the stillness of the landscape. The sunset from the top of the cliffs was unforgettable.

Pro Tip: Bring a windbreaker, it can get chilly once the sun goes down. Good shoes are helpful too, since the sandy, rocky paths can be slippery in places.
