Hidden Cave
A magical little cave in Reykjanes
Category

Sightseeing

If you find yourself in Krýsuvík, along Lake Kleifarvatn, make sure you stop at the parking lot at Indjanahofdi to stretch your legs. If you have a few minutes and you're in the mood for adventure, hike down to the beach to the east and you'll find a small cave with a little private beach and great views. Perfect spot to bring some snacks and enjoy an hours with your friends or family!

And remember — no pooping (I'm not kidding)!

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: A hidden cave by Kleifarvatn, Reykjanes.

  • Best season: Any (but watch out for the slippery rocks during winter).

  • Best time of day: You get the most sun in the morning (during summer, it's mostly in the shade during winter).

  • Nice to know: If you come when the water levels are low, you can actually climb onto the big rock there — but be careful!
