A nice little lighthouse off the beaten path in Reykjanes

Right by the epic cliffs along the southern coast of Reykjanes is this cute little lighthouse. This area is really interesting and fun to explore with a lot of seabirds, epic cliffs and even a waterfall that runs straight into the ocean during the wet seasons.

The hike from the parking lot takes around 25 minutes each way (1,6km / 1 mile) and has good views along the way.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: A small lighthouse by epic cliffs in Reykjanes

  • Best season: Summer/fall (aim for rainy days so you'll have a higher chance of seeing the waterfall there)

  • Best time of day: Any (but light at sunset is incredible)

  • Nice to know: If it has been raining, you can hike a little bit further east and find a waterfall running straight into the ocean.
