This old turf house turned café/museum is a one-of-a-kind experience in Iceland. Located in the Westfjords, it's a great place to get some sense for how people used to live in Iceland. It is a reconstructed turf house from 1895 designed with stone stowage, timber, and turf. Inside, you can explore artifacts from the early 20th century that were once owned by the two families who lived in the neighbouring house. The café provides an opportunity to learn about Icelandic culture while enjoying fresh-baked treats and coffee (get the waffles!!). The perfect place to spend some time and get a glimpse into the past.
