I have been on this exact tour and I can highly recommend it. As the glaciers are constantly changing, the tours are never the same but the guides usually know the most interesting and suitable routes for the best experience. It has also been my experience that the guides tend to share very interesting insights and facts about the glaciers, how they are formed and impacted by climate change. As you hike over the ice, you'll be going past crevasses, moulins and ice sculptures. The higher you go you'll get to witness incredible panoramic views over the National park.

As much as I love for people to experience Iceland on their own, the glaciers are a different story. They can be hard to reach and they are constantly changing which can make them very unsafe at times. That's why I always recommend people go with a professional guide when it comes to glaciers. Includes all necessary safety gear but bring proper clothing, water and snacks.
