Welcome to the heart of the Highlands, a geothermal wonderland where the mountains are painted in unbelievable shades of red, yellow, and green. This was our favorite part of our Iceland trip, and I would do this again in a heartbeat! To get here, you'll need a sturdy 4x4 for the F-roads, or pay for a tour to take you there. Once you arrive, I recommend the hike up Bláhnúkur, the 'Blue Peak'; it's a bit of a climb, but the panoramic views are absolutely breathtaking. Afterwards, there's nothing better than soaking your weary muscles in the natural hot spring right by the campsite – it's the perfect way to end a day in this otherworldly landscape.

We think a tour is the best way to view Landmannalaugar safely. You can book through Arctic Adventures, or the link below!
