PREPAID SIM CARDS
We suggest purchasing a local SIM card while you are on your trip in Sri Lanka! We recommend going with Dialog or SLTMobitel. Both operators have the best (4G/LTE) coverage nationwide. You can purchase a Dialog SIM card at the airport (which is something we don’t usually recommend, but it is actually a good deal). After landing, go straight to the Dialog stand at the airport where you will pay 2450 LKR ($8) and get 50 GB of data for 30 days. SIM card registration, with the use of your passport information, is mandatory in Sri Lanka. This will be done at the point of sale (so bring your passport).

E- SIM CARDS
Unfortunately, none of the mobile operators offer eSIM (to prepaid customers) in Sri Lanka yet. However, you can also get a travel eSIM from various eSIM providers. These are the ones Lara tried and had pleasant experience with: NOMAD Sri Lanka eSIM: You have eight choices between 1 GB and 15 GB (Use code ADU123 for 3 USD off) AIRALO Mitura eSIM: You have two choices between 1 GB and 3 GB
