The original hippie capital of Formentera

In the 1960s and 70s, this tiny village was the gathering place for hippies, artists, and musicians who came to Formentera seeking freedom. Bob Dylan reportedly spent time here. The famous Fonda Pepe bar was the original hippie hangout — it's still open and worth a drink for the atmosphere. Today Sant Ferran is a peaceful, charming village with a bohemian evening market (Thursday–Saturday nights in summer), a few restaurants, and a main street perfect for an evening stroll. It's centrally located on the island, making it a good passing-through point between Es Pujols and the southern beaches. The Mercadillo de Sant Ferran is more commercial than the La Mola market but still fun for browsing crafts and picking up souvenirs.
