Located in the heart of Braemar is the Bothy (Scots word for cabin) that overlooks the river Dee. The cafe is very popular with locals and tourists. They serve fresh soups, sandwiches, homebakes, scones and coffee.
If you are visiting the area in the winter months you will appreciate the log fire keeping the place warm and cosy. If you venture onto their balcony you will get great views of the river down below.
The Bothy is also attached to a Mountainware clothing and sports shop so if you are hiking in the area, you can get equipped there.
The cafe is also dog friendly.
Parking can be tricky if you visit in high season, Braemar has two public car parking lots nearby.
They are open seven days a week.
