What you’ll do

This itinerary is built around a villa stay — and the villa you choose matters more than almost any other decision you'll make for this trip.

Every villa we've stayed in was different, and in this guide, I highlight our top picks! Read reviews, and you can't go wrong. We love staying in the middle of the island (close to the airport) because we like to explore it all...North and South!

Your villa checklist before you book:

  • Heated pool? (Non-negotiable in March/April — water is cooler than you'd expect)

  • Full kitchen? (You'll cook at least half your meals in — saves real money)

  • Two sets of washer/dryer? (Towel turnover with kids is relentless)

  • Kayaks and paddleboards included?

  • Starlink WiFi? not always needed

  • Generator? (Power outages happen — a generator means you don't notice)

  • Within 15 minutes of Georgetown?

The families who get the most out of Exuma are the ones who understand their villa's features and use them. Those kayaks aren't decorations. That outdoor bar setup is designed for use at sunset. The pool isn't a backup plan — some of our best family memories on this island happened right in the villa pool, never leaving the property. There are so many great ones, too!
