Tips for getting to/from and around Athens!

If you fly into/out of ATH, the Athens Metro (Line 3-Blue line) offers a direct connection and takes about 40 minutes. If you're traveling with multiple people, an Uber is likely worth it.

If you arrive/depart via Piraeus port an Uber is your easiest option and is pretty cheap.

Once you reach the city center, my personal favorite way to navigate Athens is using the scooters you can rent by the minute using apps like LIME. However, walking (if you stay somewhere central) is great for discovering the neighborhoods, and Ubers are very affordable here! If you want to get a rental, I advise a moped/scooter over a car if you're comfortable with 2 wheels. Some of the streets can be quite narrow and parking is what you'd expect in a famous, ancient city.
