How to get to/from and around Zakynthos

You'll need to fly from the other destinations on this list to get to Zakynthos, but it's well worth it.
Once you arrive, I recommend renting a car as Zakynthos is a fairly large island and some of my favorite spots are a bit far apart. I am a big fan of Avis, but there are a decent number of car rental options right from the airport (reserve in advance as it's an island and they can run low on inventory). In the main town (Zante town), the parking and streets are a bit tight, so I prefer a smaller car for Zakynthos.
If you really want to see Zakynthos you need to get out on the water, so I highly recommend either renting a boat or chartering one. The big group ships are also an option, but a smaller boat rental is the way to go here. The larger boats cannot enter many of the caves and tighter areas and they also run on fast-paced schedules. My go-to is Calypso Boat Rentals which I've included in the maps for you :)
