I highly recommend iOverlander II, as it was an invaluable companion throughout our travels across Central America. Thanks to this app, we discovered countless beautiful places to stay overnight. Some of them came with stunning views, while others were simply practical spots where we could sleep for free.
On many occasions, the app also helped us find affordable showers—and sometimes even free ones, which felt like a small luxury on the road.
The app was also incredibly helpful when it came to finding activities. Thanks to it, we discovered places we would have never thought to visit—many of which aren’t even marked on Google Maps. There was even a moment in Mexico when locals asked us how we had found a particular spot, as they didn’t know about it themselves.
The app is free to use and operates on a voluntary contribution basis. Alternatively, you can purchase a subscription, which unlocks additional features beyond the basic version.
