🗓️ Best time to visit: Jul–Sep
⏱️ Recommended time: Overnight

Nestled deep in Chugach State Park along the iconic Crow Pass Trail, this rustic cabin offers a unique chance to experience Alaska’s wilderness with a touch of history. Surrounded by alpine scenery and close to glaciers, it’s a perfect overnight stop for hikers seeking a true backcountry adventure.

💡 Why visit:

  • authentic stay on one of Alaska’s most legendary trails

  • incredible mountain and glacier surroundings

  • peaceful, remote atmosphere far from civilization

⚠️ Good to know:

  • very basic facilities (no electricity, no running water)

  • reservations required in advance (popular spot)

  • wildlife area → proper food storage is essential

🔥 Extra tip:
Spend the evening outside the cabin—sunset light over the surrounding peaks creates an unforgettable alpine atmosphere you won’t want to miss. The cabin fills up quickly, especially in July and August. Reservations are required and can be made up to 180 days (~6 months) in advance. It’s available June through October (other times may be closed due to avalanche risk or poor conditions). Cost is $75 per night for up to 6 people. More info here: Crow Pass Cabin.
