This lake is something for everyone! Start you little hike by taking the cable car from Kandersteg (see link below). Like this, you gain so much elevation that you're even higher than the lake. The option is to hike up, which is not really worth it. Rather, we suggest you hiking down after a chill day at this mountain lake. To move on: As soon as you have left the cable car, you're in another world. You really feel the cold winds coming down from the glaciers, even though the lake isn't situated at such a high altitude. So it's the perfect place for a hot summer day. The lake is pretty big, so that you can stroll around it, enjoy a drink and some good food in the restaurants nearby and explore the waterfalls that are situated on the northern shore.
