  • Restaurants: Expensive and often close early (kitchens may stop serving at 9 pm).

  • Supermarkets: Rema 1000, Kiwi, Coop — best for budget meals. Pre-made sandwiches, yogurts, and bakery sections are affordable and tasty.

  • Tap water: Free and always excellent quality — bring a reusable bottle.

  • Local specialties:

    • Brunost (caramelized brown cheese)

    • Fresh salmon and Arctic cod

    • Waffles with sour cream and jam

    • Cloudberries (rare golden berries, often served with cream)

    • Reindeer dishes (common in northern Norway)
