  • Allemannsretten (Everyman’s Right): You can hike and camp almost anywhere in nature, as long as you respect private property.

  • Trails: Look for red “T” markers painted on rocks — the DNT (Norwegian Trekking Association) maintains trails nationwide.

  • Popular hikes:

    • Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) – 4 hours, stunning fjord views (weather didn't hold out for us!)

    • Trolltunga – 10–12 hours, iconic cliff ledge

    • Romsdalseggen Ridge – 7–9 hours, panoramic valley views

    • Reinebringen (Lofoten) – short but steep, famous Instagram view

  • Safety tips:

    • Always bring waterproof gear and food, even on short hikes, bring extra water and electrolytes

    • Weather can change in minutes — check Yr before heading out. We also used Windy which was super accurate.

    • Poles are useful on steep/rocky trails.

    • Hiking is STEEP! Use Alltrails for weather updates and trail updates
