  • Norway’s weather can swing wildly in a single day — sunshine in the morning, fog and rain in the afternoon, and snow at higher altitudes even in July.

  • Summer packing: Layered clothing (short-sleeve shirts, fleece, waterproof shell), sunglasses, bug spray, and hiking gear. Temperatures range from 50–75°F (10–24°C).

  • Winter packing: Down jacket, thermal base layers, insulated boots, gloves, hat, and spikes/crampons for icy streets. Temperatures range from 20–35°F (-6–2°C) but can be much colder in the north.

  • Always bring a packable waterproof jacket and waterproof shoes — even city trips can get wet fast.
