The Root Glacier Trail in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park is a must-do for glacier enthusiasts. With its stunning views of the uniquely striped glacial ice and surrounding mountain peaks, this hike offers an unforgettable experience. It's best to go with a guide for safety reasons, as glaciers can be dangerous. The trail starts at Kennecott Mill Town and leads you through a mostly flat 2.4-mile hike to the glacier. Once on the glacier, you'll get to explore blue pools, crevasses, and even moulins. Don't forget your sunglasses, layers, and waterproof gear for this chilly adventure!
