Gullfoss Falls, also known as the "Golden Waterfall," is a must-see destination in Iceland. Located in the Hvítá river canyon, this majestic waterfall cascades down two stages, with heights of 11 meters and 21 meters, creating a breathtaking natural spectacle. Visitors can feel the raw power of nature as they get drenched by the waterfall's spray. Gullfoss is part of the popular Golden Circle route, along with other attractions like the Geysir geothermal area and Þingvellir National Park.
It is FREE to enter and parking is free as well. To get to the falls it is an easy walk from the parking to the viewing point, which there are stairs you have to go down to get to.
It gets very windy so be weary of the wind chill if you're going in the colder months. I went in November and wearing a gaiter mask helped a lot!
