BC Ferries — The Scenic Way

Traveling with BC Ferries from Vancouver to Vancouver Island is a must-see.  Enjoy heading up to the top deck to take in the amazing view of the Coastal mountains, wildlife such as whales, and a special area for your pets.

Vancouver Island is a Top Destination, and we are noticing a change in how to get here and back home on time. Reservations are a must! If you are not on a time crunch, then waiting for multiple sailings is a guarantee from May to September. Each terminal provides cafes, coffee, a pet area, and facilities. Try to book at least four weeks ahead. Arrive 30 - 60 minutes before boarding, or they will turn you away and ask you to come back at the appropriate time.

Check out their website at BC Ferries to reserve. TIP: Have a look at the Saver Fares for selected sailings. This is what we do, and we can save up to 40%.

BC Ferries routes:

  • Tsawwassen → Swartz Bay (Victoria) – 1 hr 35 min

  • Tsawwassen → Duke Point (Nanaimo) – 2 hrs

  • Horseshoe Bay → Departure Bay (Nanaimo) – 1 hr 40 min
