Elk Falls Campground is conveniently located just minutes from downtown Campbell River, providing easy access to town amenities like shopping and restaurants. I've never stayed here, but have driven in to have a look, and it's a nice, clean campground.
Elk Falls Campground, officially called Quinsam Campground, is a very popular provincial park campground.
There are 122 vehicle-accessible sites. It offers a mix of riverside and forested sites, with no hookups but with water spigots, pit toilets, and a pay-for-use dump station available. The campground provides a convenient base for exploring the region, with nearby trails leading to the namesake Elk Falls and its suspension bridge, while also being situated in a world-renowned fishing area.

Reservations: Approximately 60% of the sites are reservable, and reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak season. About 51 sites are first-come, first-served.

Hiking: The campground is a gateway to the Elk Falls day-use area, which has a well-groomed trail network to the 25-meter Elk Falls and a popular suspension bridge. The trails wind through old-growth Douglas fir trees.
Fishing: The campground is located in a world-renowned fishing area along the Campbell and Quinsam Rivers.
Steelhead run through the Quinsam River from November to March.
Stocked lakes in the area offer rainbow, cutthroat, and Dolly Varden trout.
Anglers can fish for chinook or coho salmon in the tidal waters during late spring and summer.
