Campsite

I've camped at this lake twice, and once we saw a Grizzly Bear walking the shoreline halfway down the lake from our canoe. It was an experience I had never expected. Living on the North Island for thirty-six years, Grizzly bears were something we never had to worry about. In the past twenty years, we have seen a population growth. Bears are amazing swimmers!

Ida Lake Recreation Site offers a free, primitive camping experience on the shores of a small, canoe-friendly lake. Access is via a gravel road, which can be rough and may not be suitable for larger RVs. The site features basic amenities such as toilets, picnic tables, and fire pits. Key Features: Type: Primitive camping. Lake: Ida Lake, smaller and better suited for canoes.

Access: Gravel road, potentially rough for RVs. Amenities: Toilets, picnic tables, fire pits. Location: Near Telegraph Cove, about 11km from the town.
