When we feel like getting out of town for a night or two and don't feel like driving too far, we head to this area. Campbell Lake offers nine rec sites.

Loveland Bay is a provincial park and takes reservations during the summer season as first come first served. If they are booked, you can take a chance on the other rec sites along the lake. Some are paid, and some are free. This area can get extremely busy, and spots may be unavailable. Don't worry, there are many other lakes in this area with limited sites. Gosling Lake, Boot Lake, Morton Lake, and Fry Lake (more for younger crowds who like to party and ride dirt bikes at night) are great.

These lakes are great for fishing (license required), paddling, boating, swimming, ATV trails everywhere, and portage routes.

From Campbell River, follow Highway 28 west for about 20 minutes toward Strathcona Park, or Highway 19 North (Morton Lake), then turn off toward Loveland Bay Provincial Park Road or Campbell Lake Main.
