Yoyogi Park during cherry blossom season feels like one big picnic with half of Tokyo invited—and honestly, that’s the charm. It’s loud, it’s crowded, it’s a little chaotic... but also kind of magical. The air fills with music, laughter, and that faint sweet scent of sakura, while everyone finds their patch of grass to soak up the season.

I usually come here just to people-watch, catch spontaneous dance groups, and maybe squeeze into a spot under the trees with friends. You’ll see everything from cozy couples to wild student gatherings, and even a few solo folks with sketchbooks or cameras doing their thing.

Best Time to Photograph:
Late morning to afternoon, especially on weekends when the hanami energy really kicks in. Golden hour adds a beautiful glow through the trees, but don’t expect it to be quiet. Come for the atmosphere, stay for the pure Tokyo-in-spring experience.
