Nakano - Arai 5 Chrome Footbridge

This spot made me smile the second I saw it. A bright yellow train cutting through rows of soft pink cherry blossoms—it just feels so Tokyo. I found this crossing while wandering around Nakano, and it ended up being one of my favorite little surprises of the trip. The sakura frames the street perfectly, and when the train rolls by, it pops out like a moving highlight.

I came here in the morning and loved the soft light, but honestly, it works at any time of day. There's something really peaceful about waiting at the crossing, camera ready, and hearing the bells ring just before the train slides into view.

Best Time to Photograph:
Cherry blossom season, of course. Mornings are calm and bright, with fewer people and cleaner light. You can shoot right from the street, or from the nearby footbridge if you want more height and depth in the frame.
