Grái Kötturinn (which means The Grey Cat) is the coziest little café in Reykjavik and a total hidden gem for breakfast lovers. 🐈 It’s tucked away in the basement of a charming old building on Hverfisgata, and walking in feels like stepping into someone’s quirky living room — mismatched furniture, bookshelves packed with random books, and a relaxed, artsy vibe.

Their breakfast is legendary. 🍳 Think American-style pancakes, hearty omelettes, bacon, and strong coffee that will seriously wake you up. They do a mean “Truck” breakfast — basically a giant plate of eggs, bacon, toast, and potatoes that will keep you going for hours. 🥓

It’s the kind of place where you want to linger with a book or just people-watch. It opens early (perfect if you’re jetlagged) and is a favourite among locals and visitors alike. A little off the tourist trail, but so worth finding. ✨
