Hidden waterfall in Icelandic canyon

Gljúfrabúi is such a hidden gem — literally! 💧 It’s a smaller waterfall right near Seljalandsfoss, but it’s tucked inside a narrow canyon, so you can’t see it from the road. The name means “Dweller of the Gorge,” which feels spot on because it’s like the waterfall is hiding in its own secret little cave.

It's super hard to take pictures too - the spray is unreal!

To get to it, you’ll need to wade through a shallow stream and squeeze through the canyon opening (don’t worry, it’s not too hard). Once inside, you’re hit with the most magical view — the waterfall cascades down through an open skylight above. It’s otherworldly, like something out of a fairytale. 🧚‍♀️

Pro tip: Bring waterproof shoes & clothes! And go early if you want to have this spot all to yourself. It’s so worth it.
