Wat Chalong (Chaithararam Temple) is Phuket’s most important and largest temple, and it’s absolutely stunning! If you’re into history, culture, or just beautiful architecture, this is a must-visit. The temple is dedicated to two highly respected monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, who helped locals during a rebellion in the 19th century.

Things Not to Miss:

  • The Grand Pagoda – It’s beautifully decorated with intricate golden details and houses a bone fragment of Buddha!

  • Amazing viewpoint – Climb to the top of the pagoda for a great view over the temple grounds.

  • Gold leaf statues – Locals stick gold leaf on Buddha statues for good luck and blessings.

  • The firecrackers – You’ll hear loud pops from a special oven where people light firecrackers as an offering for answered prayers.

💰 Cost: Free to enter, but donations are welcome.
👗 Dress Code: Since it’s a temple, cover your shoulders and knees (sarongs are usually available if you forget).

It’s best to visit in the morning or late afternoon when it’s cooler. If you’re already visiting The Big Buddha, it’s just a short ride away, so you can do both in one trip! 😊
