Laguna Diablo is a glacial lagoon tucked away in the Los Huemules Reserve, framed by native forest and overlooked by the Cagliero Glacier. The trekking route follows the winding Río Diablo valley, passing over hanging bridges and dense lenga woods, gradually emerging into rocky terrain before reaching the water’s edge. Along the way, you’ll be rewarded with dramatic glimpses of Mount Fitz Roy’s north face and glacier vistas. At the lagoon’s edge sits Puesto Cagliero, a rustic mountain refuge offering shelter and views of the glacier and the surrounding peaks.

The trail begins at the Los Huemules Reserve entrance, about 16 km north of El Chaltén on Route 23 toward Lago del Desierto. You must register and pay the entrance fee before starting.
