Mirador del Glaciar Piedras Blancas is a scenic viewpoint in Los Glaciares National Park that overlooks the impressive Piedras Blancas Glacier, a hanging glacier descending from the eastern slopes of Mount Fitz Roy. The viewpoint is reached via a moderate hike of about 2 hours from Hostería El Pilar (or a short detour from the popular Laguna de los Tres trail), passing through lenga forest with glimpses of Fitz Roy along the way. From the lookout, you can admire the glacier’s fractured ice spilling into the valley below, with the dramatic peaks as a backdrop. It’s a less crowded alternative to the more famous Fitz Roy viewpoints, offering a quieter but equally rewarding Patagonian landscape.
