Weather & Seasons in Copenhagen

Copenhagen is a coastal city on the Baltic Sea, so the weather blows in and blows out and changes throughout the course of the day. A good old Danish saying goes, "there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing".  Make sure to pack waterproof clothes, dress in layers, never trust the weather app and adapt to the weather around you☔

Spring (April - May)

Spring comes late in Copenhagen, but when it comes, it's the perfect time to visit. During the sakura festival in mid-april and tulip season in the beginning of may, everything starts to bloom, the days are finally longer and events starts popping up.

Summer (June–September)

Summer is magical in Copenhagen. The days are long, and the city comes alive with many outdoor events. It's also peak tourist season, so you won't have anything to yourself.

Fall (October - November)

It's the season for long walks along the canals, ducking into museums and galleries you didn't have time for in summer, and finding a window seat in a café with a coffee as the rain starts. You still get sunny days but without the crowds and a little bit more rain.

Winter (November - March)

Winter is dark, rainy and cold, but it’s also when ‘hygge’ is at its peak. The Christmas markets are charming, and there's lots of decorations in the streets as well as parks and Tivoli Gardens.
