The Imperial City of Huế is a walled enclosure within the citadel of Huế, Vietnam, once serving as the imperial capital during the Nguyễn dynasty. Built in 1803, it housed the imperial family, shrines, gardens, and mandarin villas. Despite facing neglect and damage during wars, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. With its fortified ramparts, moat, and Purple Forbidden City, the Imperial City showcases a blend of history and culture that's being restored and preserved for future generations to explore and appreciate.
