Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka are two traditional shopping streets located in the historical district of Higashiyama in eastern Kyoto. These cobbled pedestrian alleys have been in existence for centuries, and are full of restaurants, souvenir shops, and traditional houses. The quaint atmosphere of the area is further enhanced by the absence of power poles and wires. Tourists can wander around the streets to discover the colorful boutiques and charming cafés, or to get a glimpse into Japanese culture by observing people dressed in yukata and kimono. At night, visitors are immersed in an authentic and festive atmosphere, perfect for exploring and finding the perfect souvenir of their trip!
